He also explores high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for unconventional bowel cancer cases. He has contributed to surgical textbooks, published extensively, and presented globally on advanced colorectal surgery and complex cancer treatments, particularly in the USA.
 
Additionally, Professor Murphy holds fellowships in the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), and is a member of the Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He also serves as the president elect of the International Society of Digestive Surgery.

Mr Simon Thompson is an internationally renowned consultant orthopaedic knee surgeon based in London and Surrey. He also runs a national FRCS (Tr & Orth) program for senior surgeons sitting the fellowship exit exam, to help them pass and become fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons.

He leads on professional development, too, as the current arthroplasty lead at Heatherwood and Wexham Hospitals (part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust).
